The Loire by bike

The Loire by Bike (La Loire à Vélo) consists of more than 800 km of a unique itinerary in the Loire Valley.

La Loire à véloThe Loire by Bike is part of EuroVelo route no.6 which links the Atlantic ocean to the Black Sea. The routes are flat and accessible to all, even to children.

Much of the route runs alongside the river Loire. For 13 kilometres you’ll be cycling on the Isle of Chalonnes. This is the Loire’s largest island, still inhabited! The route also takes you through the typical village of La Possonnière. Don’t miss its port, where you can see traditional boats of the Loire, and the scenery is wonderful! Between Chalonnes sur Loire and Rochefort sur Loire, you’ll go through countryside that’s a listed UNESCO world heritage site.
